The points referred to in the despatch mentioned anove, i.e. the definition of "Farmer" and the notation of the

paragraphs of section 57 of the Opium Ordinance, 1914, have been noted for amendment at the first suitable opportunity.

A print of the regulations made under the ordinance

is annexed.

In my opinionthis is an Ordinance to which His Excellency the Governor may properlyassent in the name of His Majesty and on His behalf.
